Joining Triton

8 years in the Poker/Esports industry

It’s been a month since I wrapped up my first event with Triton, stepping into a leadership role to spearhead content innovation and manage the event video content team. As I enter the final year of my 20s, I reflect on an eight-year journey in content creation within Esports and Poker. This new role with Triton offers incredible growth opportunities, positioning me to help shape the future of the series.

Controversial?! But at the beginning stages of my career I worked 1500 hours or so for free, a few times even covering my own expenses which meant going close to zero. I got scammed for my entire net worth in 2016, had health issues for two years, and of course, the world shut down for some time. Many downswings, but even more highs later on. The only thing I had going for me was a strong self-belief after competing in gaming during my teenage years. I will get back to this later.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with over 100 creators, countless professional players, some of the biggest Esports teams globally, and most major poker operators. Countless Highlight montages, Creator vlogs, documentaries, live streams, full-on influencer media days, the list goes on. I started Overbet Express with my best friends, which turned into vlogging for 6 months after Bro won the WSOP main event.

The next chapter. Joining Triton is a significant personal milestone, as they're known for hiring some of the best people in the industry. Having the trust to execute my vision is incredibly meaningful. Jeju, Event #1 While I still picked up the camera to capture final tables and winning moments, I focused on establishing robust workflows, and fostering collaboration among our creatives while managing our content plan and strategy. Probably the most stressful three weeks of my life, definitely high up there with the most rewarding period being able to make Triton Champions shine even more, as well as the team creating the content.

By the second day of the series, we did manage to shift from static posts to dynamic, creative reels, posting Final Table Announcements and Winner Reels in real-time as soon as the stream delay allowed. We did the same for new tournaments starting. This new standard in our content strategy is a very demanding challenge, especially over such a long event. Good preparation, good communication, and utilizing our resources very effectively enabled us to turn around pieces like this in these 35-65 minute windows. We also created long-form content, updates, and many more pieces simultaneously.

“…THANKS TO YOUR AND THE VIDEO GUYS’ HARD WORK, WE SCORED OVER 170% HIGHER REACH AND 250% HIGHER ENGAGEMENT COMPARED TO OUR PREVIOUS EVENT - A JOB VERY WELL DONE!” Not only making Triton Champions shine but also highlighting our strong team making it possible. I am joining forces with Triton for an entire additional season after Montenegro in May. I will also allocate some of my time outside of events to elevate and scale what we are doing long-term.

To circle back. Something close to my heart. Managing people in such a fast-paced environment is a challenging task. Ironically, 24000 hours of World of Warcraft, competing in the top World 100 for many years, leading 1000+ casual raids, calling strategies in the highest-rated RBGS in Europe, offering CM runs, and reaching Global(cs) in my first year of playing, all of this was the perfect foundation to build a very well rounded foundation for my future. Arguably the best education I could wish for, certainly more effective than any traditional education in Germany. While creating has always been a key passion and tool in my career, I believe my most natural strengths are found in other areas. Managing competitive teams of 9-24 strangers in World of Warcraft was a unique challenge. A dynamic in which people show up 6x a week not just to play, but to solve problems and achieve together is rare. This is where I learned about strategic planning, honed critical thinking, and managed performance, both mine and others. Quickly adapting to team member's strengths and weaknesses was key in navigating tough situations. I trusted in following my passion, and only a few like-minded people back then understood, only a small percentage of players get to properly utilize the skills acquired, but words like these had a big impact 12-15 years ago. Thanks

To close it out. It's so early. To stick to WoW terms, I feel like I've just equipped my first epic, a lot of growth and lessons ahead. Very excited to build going forward. While this is business-focused, I also experienced an insane amount of growth on a personal level thanks to some really good friends I met along the way. With that being said, I want to pick a small amount of extra projects this year. I am available during WSOP, in December, and in small time windows here and there. Let's connect. I am interested in documentaries, and creating personal brand content for athletes or very successful individuals (mostly to learn and observe, mentorship). Esports, Sports, Creators. I can lead entire teams or be a one-man show while using editors in my network. Or even better, a documentary around Gaming as an educational tool, interviewing people like the Gymshark CEO and other absolute legends. If you made it this far, and you think we should work together now or in the future, let's hop on a 13-minute call. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. I might share more things going forward. Let me know if this is valuable.
